This is actually my third machine so it’s safe to say that I’m a very loyal Philips customer! When I returned home from my cross-country trip and got to cleaning everything I messed up the grinder motor and broke something else by not reading the instructions properly! So…after purchasing another unit, all is well again in my kitchen mornings are normal with (what I believe is) the best fresh ground brewer on the market! I recommended this same unit to my neighbor and he too jumped on line and has one also!

Makes cappuccino in under 3 mins and espresso is always fast, creamy, and tasty. Easy to clean, not too noisy, and simple to maintain. Hidden settings (water hardness, temp, filter, auto-off, etc.) are handy. Spout fits tall mugs, drinks are programmable, and running costs are low (about $2/day for 6–8 shots). After 5 months, still works great—very reliable machine.

Not fancy but does the job. Easy setup, though instructions could be clearer. Makes good coffee with small portions, frother works best with higher-fat milk. Great starter machine for home use.

I just received this and made my first beverage today. So far, so good. I find that if you want stronger coffee, you just need to make sure the grinder is set to a fine grind. I use dark roast anyway, so for me, it works well. As for water temperature, piping hot. I’m not so sure about the frother yet. I don’t want too much in the cup, but I do like it frothy. I wish there was a setting just for froth, though. I will report back after using it for a while. As for it breaking, there’s a fairly good warranty, and I also chose the extended, so we’ll see.
